A TRIBUTE to a special American Eskimo Dog
|
A special tribute to our "once in a lifetime" Eskie, Peanut. We rescued Peanut in Dec.2006 from certain death in a kill shelter in Michigan. He avoided death in a Tn kill shelter when a good hearted person placed him on a Petsmart van going to the Detroit area. They may have felt his chances of adoption would be better in a more metropolitain area. After two weeks on the adoption floor without any interest shown by potential homes, he only had three choices in life at the time. Rescue, euthanasia, or being sold to a research lab for animal testing. I made a commitment to take him in if no other rescue would save him. I did this thinking somebody for sure would. Well, nobody did. We made a 6 hour round trip drive and picked up a very old, tired Mini Eskie. He walked funny, had bad teeth, a horrible gum infection, and terrible urine staining in his fur coat. We took him home and got him proper vet care and a good grooming. Usually when we rescue an eskie, we rehome it. Peanut was never going to leave our home. We enjoyed eachother's company for 2 1/2 years. Too short a time for me. He had a couple bad habits. But his cuteness overshadowed any shortcomings he may have aquiered through his long life. Peanut left us June 1st 2009and here it is June 28th and I'm finally able to assemble this tribute to my "once in a lifetime" dog. While I love all our Eskies, no other will ever take as large a piece of our hearts then this guy did. Rest Peanut. We love you and will never, ever <b>...</b> |

3 Week Old American Eskimo Dog Puppies

This is a video of some three week old Eskie Puppies that were born at the rescue on October 10, 2007. The puppies are now three weeks old. I just cleaned their kennel and filmed them settling in. This is the first video I have uploaded to You Tube. Enjoy!!! |
